Should I just let the dealership do my PCV?

Should I just let the dealership do my PCV?
I asked my service guy at the dealership how much they charged to do the PCV. He said it was $37.50. So I guess they get a 1/2 hour of labor on it. I've heard that this is a PITA. I've also looked at it and I can barely see it, let alone get a wrench or pair of vise grips in there. I also don't want any rubber going into the valve cover. I think I may just let them do it. To me, $40 is worth not having the headache or worries of doing it.
What do you guys think?

I did mine b/c I had removed the intake for cleaning anyway, making the PCV easily accesible. If I wasn't doing that, though, I would probably take it to a dealer. Keep in mind, though, that whoever does it is probably just going to disconnect some VAC hoses and try to grab it with a wrench. The will have just as much of a chance of getting grommet material in there as you will. Of course, for $37 if anything goes wrong (e.g. plastic in a valve) then the dealer will have to fix it, not you, so it probably is worth it.

Is the PCV that hard to access on the 3.0's? If so I didn't know...

If it was on another vehicle where the PCV is out in the open, there would be no way in hell I would think about having the dealership do it. On the 3.0 the intake goes right over the left valve cover. The PCV is on top of the left valve cover. This makes for a very tight fit. I can barely see the PCV. There is also some stuff in the way. No bueno. Trust me, it looks like it will be a PITA. From what other people have said, it is a PITA.

get your hands dirty, take out the air intake, would that give you plenty of access? the pcv is so simple you have no choice but to tackle it yourself, good luck, let us know how tough it is. besides after you do it once youll be a pro.

When I said intake I meant the upper intake manifold. Sure, go look at your neighbors 3.0. When I first looked for the PCV I couldn't find it. If you go look, it's on top of the passenger side valve cover.

If it's a PITA job, I say pay someone.
Unless of course is a front output shaft oil seal. In that case, do it yourself because most of the mechanics I talked to had no idea what I was talking about or hadn't done it in YEARS.

Oh yeah.

i looked it over. i wouldnt take the intake off, im not even sure i disconect the vacuum hoses unless i had to. id pull the pcv hose off and then fish out the pcv valve. i t looks like theres plenty of room. i think $40 is too much. im sure the mechanic has a set of pliers just for doing it

3.4L V6 PCV Valve Update
I changed mine today. The part cost me about $12 Cdn ($9 USD). It was ridiculously easy to change on the 3rd gen. 3.4L V6. No tools necessary whatsoever. It's easier than filling up on gas.
