My 1988 2wd 2bbl carb Toyota Truck has problems when it first starts up.
On very cold mornings it wants to stall during the first 5 minutes.
Also, during the very cold days it sometimes runs for about 2 seconds sometimes after I turn off the engine.
First off it has black stuff come out everytime if it has been sitting for more than 5 hours. The black stuff looks like soot and sprays the ground after I first pump the gas after initial startup. I checked the choke butterfly and it does open properly. The truck runs great after it has been running later in the day but the exhaust doesnt smell right.

Please advise.
