rotors

Rotors are warped on my 02 tacoma with only 9000 miles on it. The dealer says that they have to turn the rotors and can not give me new ones. I say that is a bunch of crap. I think they should put new rotors on. It did not come with warped rotors on it new, and they should put new on there since it is still under warrenty. I have never been happy with turning rotors you just end up replacing them in another few thousand miles anyway.

What do you all think.

Well at least its friday everyone have a good weekend

Thanks

i do not think they will replace them unless they find them to be defective. turning them has never been a problem for me. just my $.02

I can see where they would only turn them (it's cost effective for them)- and i think the consensus around the forum is like your thinking...replace them!

I guess all you can really do is take their turning and go ahead and re-warp them....hopefully then they will be too thin to return and you'll get new ones!

I know that is what is going to end up happening. I just hate to make another trip to the dealer for something that should have been done right the first time. What can you do.

The first time? You say that is has 9000 miles on it right? Have they already been turned? Has it been doing this since it was new? Well they are not new and this falls under the normal wear and tear of the vehicle. Now like I said if they are defective, then they SHOULD be replaced, but only then. Other than that I do not see how they are responsible unless it falls under a TSB. In that case I stand corrected...Anyone???

Rotors

Ok guys, everyone knows that Toyota makes a good truck or car but their rotors are ˟˟˟˟! Sorry to say that but that is the truth. I have to replace mine tomorrow due to warping. There is nothing you can do to help this except either buy TRD or after market performance ones and even then you will eventually have problems. In my opinion, every SUV Toyota sales should have vented rotors to ensure more cooling. There is nothing you can do about this other than what I just suggested. As for turning, if you are low on cash then you really have no other option. However, if you are looking to save money in the future then go with new rotors.

02 Taco rotors
43512-04010 $52.48 each
43512-04020 $72.94 each

Your truck should take one of these two, send me your VIN just to be sure if you really would like to pursue getting them through me.
