replacement seats for 93 4x4?
Does anyone know where I can get a better driver's seat for my 93 4x4 extended cab? Mine has definately seen betters days. It is too soft and offers zero support.
I was thinking of putting in a vw seat (I am new to the Toyota world, I am really a VW guy:rolleyes: ) from a early 90's Jetta or something like that. Is this possible?
Also, what about gaugues? Is there anyway I add a trip odometer and tach? I don't have either of them on my 93 4x4.
Thanks,
Robert

I'm assuming you had buckets originally. I suggest keeping all the mounting hardware from your original seats and adapting it to whatever seat you choose. It should be possible to do with minor drilling and bolting between the VW seat frame and the Toyota floor mounts.

Hey Bobful-
Let me know how things go. I have a 90 and want to put in some new seats as well. Any info would be great. FYI I have heard that Acura's from the early 90's with buckets fit in the 90-95 toyota truck and 4runner.
Good luck!!

You can add an aftermarket tach for lessthan $40 and they're quick to install. the sunpro website usually has pretty good deals on them.
I put seats from a Nissan Sentra SE-R in my 4x4,they took a little banging around but I was ableto use the nissan rails and they were already the right hieght. My experience with finding seats was just to go to local junkyard, see what they have and when you find something you like make it fit. I measured the depth of the seat, the height of the front and the height of the rear on my stock seat and then just set out to find any cars with similar dimensions. I didn't use the toyota rails becaue I had the bech seat and didn'thave all four to begin with. Your extended cab has the 60/40 front seat I think so you've got a better set up to start. The toyota rails I think will also need to be ground off, not a big deal uless you dont have an angle grinder or a dremel tool.
Blah blah blah blah my 2cents
