hey to remove the rear panels on my first gen runner, do i just take the top off and drill out all the spot welds or what?

Rear panels? Are you talking about the quarter panels as in the OUTSIDE fender? I would imagine that you do just need to remove the welds that hold it altogether. Definitely take the top off. Seems like you are going to have to cut something loose anyway as the rear is like one big welded together piece past the doors.

ok heres what i really wanna know, im buying rear quarter panels (yes the outside) from toyota fiberglass. i heard i have to make an inner frame to make it steardier. i need some ideas on how to do this.

What are you talking about?
Take off the old panels (drill out all the spot welds, they are everywhere, probably 200+, use a big flat screwdriver or prying tool to snap off the drilled spot welds, then fit the new panel on.
There is already an inner frame.

*Inner walls are strongly recommended for added strength and durability . They are like the factory inner walls in your original bed , except they are fiber glassed right in and become a structural part of the bed .

I replaced my qtr panels with steel a few years ago. I took off the top and the other black plastic trim on the B pillar and by the rear bumper and located and drilled out all of the spotwelds. There are alot of them! Ive never done fiberglass, so I dont have any advice there. Good luck.
