I've got the infamous butt sag that the 2nd gen's have. I've been doing some searching and it seems that almost everyone has been replacing their rear coils with the Downey HD coils and that everyone has been saying that it raises the back a little higher than the front. I've got the ADD and don't want to crank on my torsion bar. I was wondering if just replacing the rear coils with stock coils from Toyota will raise my back end up to stock height. If using the stock coils brings the back end up to stock height, how long will it take them to sag again?

Also I've got Procomp shocks all the way around, and was wondering how they would ride with the Downey HD coils. I don't know what model they are (the previous owner put them on) except that they are solid white with a green boot. Again it also seems that everyone is using the Rancho shocks.

If your going to take the time to do the coils don't waste your time with stock ones. They are crap even when new. Luke on here has a 94 with the Downey 3 inch lift and pro comps and it rides great. I did not crank my T-bars with the downey install. I am 1/2" higher at the rear than the front but it's hard to tell unless you measure. I am giving the downeys some time to settle before cranking.

Yes, don't put stock ones back on.
It won't even bring it up hardly.

As for cranking the T bars with ADD, if you don't go over 14" or so, you are fine.
I ran my T bars cranked for over two years with ADD before I put the Aisin manual hubs on, and it did not harm the CVs at all.

It's when you crank over 14.50" is when you have prolbems with the ADD setup.

I have the Performance Products "brand" springs from a few years ago (5yrs or so). At the time, I think they were German made (maybe Eibach?). They gave 1 1/2-2" of altitude at the rear. My torsion bars got a minor crank to even things out, but it was a negligible amount. I'll try to get a pic on flat ground and measure to see where everything has settled at. I haven't measured it for years. My 93 4R has 115K miles with no CV problems. I plan to do the Aisin hubs when funds permit.
