Power rear window problem...
I just had my back window go out on me. I rolled it down one day and it wouldn't go back up. i thought it was the motor but that works fine. ithen i checked the key and the switch in the front console and those both worked. Then I jumped the motor and the window went downand would only go up. Any advice??

oh yeah sorry... Its a 93 4runner. mostly stock minus the stereo system. When i was fiddling with everything, i took a a spare battery and hooked it directly to the motor and it went down. Then i used both the key and the switch to roll it back up. the motor is good the switch and the key are both good, but there has to be something else right??

rear wiper
i had this problem with my '94. check the rear window wiper. make sure it's going all the way up when you turn it off. it won't allow you to lower the window unless that switch closes to complete the circuit. it will allow you to raise it though if you manually lower the window. there are some other "safety" switches that would prevent the motor from engaging if they were malfunctioning, but, if it will go up fine but not down, i think the wiper is most likely.

I also had the same problem, for a while it only went down, and it needed my help to go up then it just didint go down either, so i went to a stealership, and went in with the guy and we took it apart and it had something to do with the gears in my motor i think they were striped....so i went to a junk yard and pick me up a "new" motor and now everything works A-ok

My '92 rear window struggled to go up & down, the problem was the drive-gear on the motor was worn. Replaced the motor with a Corolla rear door window winder motor - identical. The rear door motors are cheaper because they don't work as much as the front ones and are therefore plentifull!

Hello guys,
I am a new member from Argentina, this is my second post about this matter.
I tell you that I have problems with the back window of my 1992 4Runner SR5 4x4 3.0 5-spd from last weekend. It goes down without problem but it
doesn´t go up.
I checked the motor and it works Ok and I believe the problem is the relay box. I already have the box in my hands and want to verify it
I will appreciate if anybody tell me how or where to get the electrical circuit diagram of the back windows and the relay box especially
Also, can you tell me what the regulator is and where it is?
Thanks a lot.
Jorge
