Possible Purchase of 2002 4Runner
I want some advice and a couple of questions.
I am looking to make an offer on a 2002 Badlands (Sport type) Edition 4Runner, probably today or tomorrow. It has 89k or something like 53k miles on it. NO real options like Diff Lock, Leather, Sunroof or Tint. But it is VERY clean and it IS 4x4 with a Graphite type interior. They are asking $24,900 cdn or approx. $22k US funds. I was thinking about offering $26k cdn with taxes included which would mean something aroung $23 cdn before taxes.

U think this is OK?
2nd) Is it possible to install an aftermarket electric sunroof or does it need to be Manual?????
thanks guys!!

Pretty steep without options/upgrades. For some perspective, I paid $23,900 for my '01 w/ 12K on it in March of '02. It has towing package, 16" Alloy wheels, sunroof, tint, wood trimmed interior, color keyed running boards, Black Pearl emblems, etc. Basically everything but leather seats and exterior cladding (which I don't like anyway).
Edit: Those rims in your link look STEEL to me, not Alloy.

If I made an offer?
OK, what do you guys think its worth? Prices are a bit different here than in the US....... Hopefully these links work. 1st one, Price Ranges, 2nd one, the vehicles currently listed for that make and model.

For some retarded reason, the Sport/Badlands editions in Canada did not come with Leather. All the other models did..........pisses me off.

That Runner would be hard pressed to command near $20k even here in Colorado where 4Runners do sell with higher than average prices. With steel wheels that price would be alot less considering alsmost all newer Runners have alloy wheels.

id wait...or offer less, like 19,500 cdn. seems very high even when compared. i have seen the 02 models going up in price too :evil grin:
kelly blue book lists excellent cond (private seller) at 18,000 USD
who needs a sunroof in canada?

for the sunroof you can always do this: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f126/electric-ragtop-roof-1995-4runner-75766/
just don't do this: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123/installing-sunroof-cut-waay-big-hole-what-now-76877/

if youre looking to spend 26 large, look at getting an earlier (97-99) limited model with low k's. You'll get leather (but no heated seats pre 99), sunroof, alloys, locker, and my favourite...meaty flares . if you want a manual, youd have to look for a fully loaded SR5 w/ elocker for your best bet.
i got my 98 2.5 years ago, it had 119K for about $23K. it was from AB though but it was black, low KM and sans accident, which were my priorites. but being from ON yourself, id imagine rust isnt an issue for you (well...an issue you cant avoid anyway).
do yourself a favour and hunt down one with an elocker if you plan on doing any wheeling. unless you plan on heavily modding your truck, the factory elocker makes the runner that much more capable.
good luck!

The Badlands edition was was offered by Toyota at the end of the 3rd gen cycle. It was a base v6 4runner with a hood scoop and color clad flares. It really didn't have any special options very basic. It was brought in for toyota canada to get rid of its excess inventory. Kind of like a special edition.
By the way nice truck Doubledown!

the mileage is going from kilometers to miles i assume. I saw a badlands a lot like this one in canada for 16,000 US. I bought my '02 sport with all the options and 88,000 miles, not kilometers for $15,200 US. I looked for about 2 or 3 months though to find it.
