Blew the window on Parson's Pass at Monteagle, local glass places were being ridiculously expensive, and or wouldn't touch my glass.

Got quoted anywhere from 300-891 bucks for new glass :eek:

So I made my own

.25 plexiglass, spray on tint, sheet metal screws, lots of sealant

Eh, with scratches it will just match the paint job

I have spare glass for it, just way too much for me to get it taken out and put in.

Plus I'm going to chop the top either in the winter or next summer

with a new rubber moulding a new piece of glass (in theory) should pop right in.

I have helped with and seen it done on a FJ60, takes a few sets of hands but a pair of strings is used around the rubber gasket moulding.

You start with one side (the top) and press into place as you pull the strings out to each side to seat the rubber gasket moulding.

The strings meet up at the midpoint of the bottomseal , it is a slick trick. Dishwashing liquid soap is most helpful to keep it all lubed up.

I doubt I have actually described this very well so consult a real expert of course....

Nonetheless that is a fine piece of retrofit work.

I've helped with a window before, doing what you said with string and soap......... but this window is glued in, and a pain to get out

i have to be hoenst here, i find it really nice when windows are like that... with bolts around the windows.... kinda reminds me of military vehicles with windows being bolted in. i'd do it on all of the windows lol

After i broke it, my buddies found complete stickers with glass on the back just lying on the ground.

Also tested it today when I washed off the truck, doesn't leak at all

also found more dents

a whole lot! when my back window was busted out, it spider webbed the entire thing, and the stickers held it together until i touched it. looked pretty cool though... now i need a new back window. they almost covered my whole back window is why it held.

did your window get blown out at seto too? if so then im almost glad i didnt go.. haha i get too ballsy when i wheel i suppose its seeing my little runner next to ranger rolisons makes me need to prove myself

Nah 88clevelrunner didn't someone just broke into his runner, ie just busted the window.

You wouldn't have been on the trail i was either, it was optional, and no lockers you weren't going to make it.
