Pic of my Fiberglass ISR mod for the 3.0

Finally got back my 35mm pics I took the day I intalled my fiberglass ISR tube. My dad fabbed this up out of a handmade mold and then painted it with epoxy paint. It's real sturdy and dissapaits heat really good too. Here's the pic

I like it. What did you do about the resonator box next to the airbox? I see one of the lines that goes to the resonator going to the tube. What have you noticed thus far?

Victor that resonater box is laying on the floor in my shed. I have no clue what it does but it must not have been very important because the only thing I have noticed is my intake sounds awesome and I have a very noticable increase in power. Highly recommend this mod. I think it compliments the exhaust nicely.

I had thought about taking the resonator out - blocking the tube with a PVC plug like the ISR mod for the 3.4 and then routing the two hoses into it. Generally those resonators are there to meet noise laws. The govt measures the vehicle as it drives by so manufacturers try to control intake roar with the boxes.

I removed the one on the inside of the fender of my old 5.0 and it made a big difference in power. It was one hell of a restriction although the design on the 3.0 doesn't look like it restricts anything. I'm just not sure what those 2 hoses that go to it do.

Hmm good question. He just retired this year. I'll have to see if he's interested or not.

If you're looking for a head count to boost interest, I'm in!

Outside of your airbox being on the opposite side of mine (3rd gen, 2.4L) I would bet that would fit my rig. I'm willing to buy one to find out.

Hang on hang on...let's all remember that the fellow who fabbed this piece is RETIRED and probably quite happy doddering about in his free time...oh yeah, also remember...
ME FIRST
ME FIRST!!!!!

Joey, keep us posted if he's into it. Seems there's a few of us who wanna do the mod, but don't have the wrenching skills to try that kind of plumbing work. I have a couple questions about those 'spare parts' and I saw something earlier on another thread. I'm gonna post some pics with my questions on that thread.
I'm gonna do this mod, but having a pre-measured and tested pipe in hand would sure make it go easier, so let us all know.

Well I asked Pa about fabbing some of these things up and he didn't seem to keen on the idea. He said he spent 3+ hours of sanding by hand on that one to get that smooth appearance. We gotta be able to come up with something for you guys though.

Thank you for asking him Joey.

fwiw, I don't mind sanding. My interest in this is to have a nice simple, clean piece in there. Right now, I just have the plumbing end cap solution and I'd love to clean that up.
