Spare tire under the truck? Do you have any pics or measurements of your truck with the 906 vs 980. I think OME states a .75" difference, just wondering if that is true.

Anyone else have comments about a 881 front/ 890 rear combo?

Thanks!
The fender to ground in the rear on mine after the 890's had settled was about 37.5" as compared to about 36.5" with the 906's (the measurement is often not exact since it can be off up to 0.25" side to side, but it gives you a ballpark idea anyway). All measurements and pics were with an unloaded cargo area, carrying the stock full size spare tire and running the stock 265/70R16 tires on the truck. The 881's up front gave me about 36.25" fender to ground just for comparison. Like I said, it took me almost 800lbs in the cargo area to have the truck sit level front to back.

About an inch or difference front to back sounds good.

Anyone have info on what price I should pay? Where to order. I am leaning towards ordering from North Shore Offroad...they are asking a bit more, but can get it to my quicker.

if you plan on having any sort of custom from bumper with a winch, dont get the 881s.

Ive lugged 20-5gallon water jugs with my 891s and they leveled out the rig and made it ride much nicer.

ok k southman I have been lurking along and am curious what you bought and how happy you are with it....?

I am in the market for a similar set up and I think I want some rake. Just learning all the part numbers and what they do.The choices are overwhelming...

Tell me about it Ron. I have been contemplating a similar setup for myself. So far, this is the setup I will be going with.

Front:
Part #OME-N91SC
Part #OME881

Rear:
Part #OME-N86C
Part #OME906

It's going to be simple since it is my daily driver. No spacers, diff drop, etc..
Just a simple small lift.

Then, I talked to a buddy of mine and he swears by the Donahoe coilovers but they are pricey. If I was going to pay that much for just the front suspension, I might as well get the SS 7.2

I ended up getting the 881 front/ 890 rear combo and the none-comfort shocks. One year after my lift, my impressions are:

I love the 890's for towing and for carrying stuff in the back of my truck. My dad has a 2004 Z71 and I would say that my truck feels alot better towing then his. Just this weekend I had about 700 lbs in the back of my truck and it drove great. The rear sags a bit, but not to much at all. So much better then factory. I have a 18' 3000lb boat and it tows so much better then it did when I had stock springs and shocks.

The front end does sit a bit low, giving me a good amound of RAKE. I would say maybe 1" or so. Nothing to bad, but if you wanted it to sit level you would need to go with 882's in the front or a 3/4" spacer. I did insert 3/8" spacers above my struts which did help level it out a bit. My 285 BFG MT's are still very close to rubbing, I may get 3/8" wheel spacers or the full 3/4" front strut spacers. I guess the other option would be to run 906 rears if you didn't tow.

The ride is good. My friend has the comfort shocks on his 97 4Runner and his definatly rides better then mine. Overall pretty happy with the price, quality, and ride of the OME shocks and springs.
