Oil changes 5-10K on 22r!?!?!?!?
I read under the hood that the oil and filter should be changed every 10,000 under good conditions or every 5,000 miles under extreme conditions for the 22r. Is this for real? Do you guys ever wait this long? I'v always heard it should be changes every 3k on comercials and such and by that time it does look pritty dark.

Most synthetic motor oils are "extended drain" intervals. I use Amsoil, and change it once a year.
That said, I believe that the 3K mile oil change interval is a marketing ploy to drum up sales to boost the petroleum industry.

i fully 100% believe that oil changes can go up to 10,000 without much of a problem. i, however, would NEVER do this EVER. when you can change your oil in the 22re for $10 and 15 minutes, why bother waiting that long? i do mine every 3k, faithfully. always have on every vehicle, and always will. (at least until i start getting synthetic).
