Not real happy! would like some help!
ok so i just picked up my truck from drivetrain direct for my fron ARB install. only problem is they were unable to install the air lines and switches because they say they no longer do this. (even though they did it with my rear locker about a year ago) so when i pick it up they tell me that they cant get the plug out of the compressor for the front locker hose fitting thing. so the installer told me to take a torx socket or allen wrench to get it out. so i take it home and attempt to finish the job and find that the plug fitting in the compressor has been stripped, and i can see metal shavings inside it. on closer inspection it even looks like they tried to drill it out and gave up half way in. so now im pissed, i have a front locker that cannot be engaged and no way to get the fitting out. plus i have no time to take it back there anytime soon. so what are your suggestions for getting this damn fitting out so i can plumb the locker and wire everything up. im pretty pissed right now since i did just pay someone to finish a job that is clearly not finished. i have very little patience right now.
please help me if you can!

Hopefully you paid by credit card. Go down to DD and tell/show them everything and you want them to correct it- you don't have time right now but you want whatever they agree to in writing.
If your credit card has consumer protection (most do) than you can call them to stop payment and investigate if DD doesn't come through for you.
Hopefully you get it worked out... 4xDoctor in Burbank (I know, a hike for you) when you get the time to fix it?
Good luck,

they are closed now, and i paid cash.
i really dont even want them to fix it, i can plumb the hoses and wire up the switch myself, basically all im asking is a way to get this damn fitting out.
i have no time at all to drive out there for at least a week

ok thats more than stripped, its pretty much a globe shaped fitting. I believe they have a special tool for stripped fitting, I remember seeing it but forgot completely where to get it from.

Lots of screw extracter sets come with them anyway, but get a left handed drill bit for your pilot hole. Sometimes they'll back out just in the drilling process, and in any case at least you won't be making it tighter as you drill.

Pull the "tank" out and finish drilling the plug out. Just go real slow and gradually increase your bit size and you should be able to get the rest of the plug out w/ a pick or small screwdriver.
If that doesn't work, just get a new tank. The last time I was up at ARB they had tons of 'em laying around being used as holders for pens, tools, parts, etc.
