Since i will be gettig bigger tires (DOH) those rims (or another light model) look really nice. I want to get some nice wide 12.5 on the rear but i am not sure how big around yet. the front i will cram the widest tires i can find in there. How big will depend on how much of a lift i end up with.

Thanks for the info and i will indeed post some pics when i get them!

Tex,

By going with significantly wider rims and tires, you will drastically hurt performance. Not only acceleration but braking and handling as well.

Greedy went with a rim/tire combo that has a larger diameter, but is actually LIGHTER than the stock combination: 22.5 lbs per 5 star limited wheel and 38 lbs/tire average weight in 265/70/16.

Other considerations:

Centerline makes some lightweight wheels.

Rota grids are around 19 lbs for the 16x8. Kevin444 might still have his set for sale.

Pro comp forged 107's - forged, strong, and reasonably priced at stock weight. www.4wheelparts.com might still have the buy 3 get one free deal on these.

i know this is kinda off topic on the tires but will 265/75/16 fit on a factory limited? i have seen people with that size tire but they had some lift or something else under there ride.

and those rims look great on the ride.

Yeah, i know it will hurt performance some but i just love the look hence why i will need some lighter wheels to make up for it. I am still not 100% sure on anything as far as wheels and tires go yet other than they will be bigger and the wheels will be black.

Thanks for the links and names. I will check those out!

Here is a link to a post I made a few months ago with pics of the turbo set-up.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/t...5vz-fe-114816/

The specs on the wheels are 16x8 - 4.5 backspacing and 0 offset (Model TE37X). They are manufactured by Rays Engineering and come in only white or bronze off the shelf. You can order them in a wide variety of colors for an extra charge. Typically, it takes about 4-6 months to get these once you order them. However, I was lucky and got them used from a guy in cali.

Those are hot, some of the nicest rims I've seen on a runner, I had no idea you could get volks for in a 6lug.

Looks like Rota makes some similar cast replicas too: http://www.rotawheels.com/gridor.php

I might have to look into those.

Yeah - a guy (kevin444) on the forum had(or has) a set of those in silver for sale for pretty cheap. They only weight 18-19 lbs or so and look great!

Mickey Thompson Classic II's.... mine were significantly lighter than the stock rims on my truck... it made the 33x12.5 bfg m/t's equal the weight of my stock rims with 30x9.5's....

But those volk's look awesome! we need some driving vids, dude!

Sloan, I am willing to bet that the 265/75/16's will not fit on your 2001 very well. I run them with no lift on my '97 but I believe that the post 1999 trucks sit lower than than those before 2000.

I am running an OME lift front and back and have no rubbing issues. It would be a very tight fit on a stock height ride - even with my 99 coils...
