My poor clutch!

I recently purchased a 96 4Runner SR5 and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm just kind of bothered by the fact that I have to try to push my clutch through the floorboard to get the switch to let the engine start. That's no exaggeration-sometimes the clutch will be ON the floor and it still won't start until I try to force it through. Is this normal in 4Runners with a manual transmission or is the switch in my clutch worn out?

try adjusting the bolt on the pedal, that might do it.

its possible that the bracket that holds the sensor switch is bent towards the firewall from years of pushing the clutch all the way in. if you want just use the clutch start cancel switch.

Ever find the culprit? Mine started doing the same thing today.

its exactly what the others just said..

Either its bent and all it needs is alittle bend back and/or adjustment (grab a 12mm wrench and get ur butt under there) OR if you are to lazy then use the clutch start cancel switch...
