A little off topic but I did see a V6 Camaro that was ordered from Chevrolet with a z28 Package. It had the Z28 brakes and suspension but 3.8 V^. I saw the sticker and it cost more than a regular Z28. From what I heard they guy who ordered it claimed it would save him a ton in insurance. Dumb.

I wanted a "Sport Edition" but could never locate one in good condition, so I ended up with a 2002 SR5 that was immaculate which I purchased used in October of 2003. This 4WD 4Runner had the sunroof, leather package, rear heater, 16" alloys, and color keyed flare options installed. I bought it with only 12,000 miles on the clock.

After driving it a couple of years I decided to turn it into a "Sport Edition" model. Ive installed an OEM sport hood painted to match, tube steps custom powder coated, OEM fog lights, and sport skid plate. The only thing I haven't done is the silver interior trim, as I never thought it looked right with oak interior.

I went a step further and installed the TRD supercharger and some other goodies as well.

So it's VERY easy to turn a standard SR5 into a sport edition if you so choose. The only thing I haven't decided on is the "sport edition" badging. I'll either apply those or "supercharged" badges in their place.

I've basically built a TRD Sport Edition

If you wanna see the details, just click the "Project SportRunner" link in my signature.

My 02 SR5 model also came with 4.10 gears and 12.5" brakes.

I'll also say this 4Runner has been the best vehicle I've owned from a comfort and performance standpoint, and my 4th Toyota 4x4.

You just need to paint that chrome and it'll look like the real deal even to the 4Runner nerds.

I actually thought about that, but I don't think paint would be as durable as chrome and I was worried about all the chips.
