I grew up in VT, and I sure here you on the rust. I really don't miss it one bit.
X2 on oil undercoating. My 1990 was a VT truck the first 17 years of it's life, and it was undercoated yearly. Hardly any rust, the frame looks new and there are no holes in the bed. Most trucks that have been in VT that long are rusted in two pieces.
