Lights IN TJM...Anyone ever done this????

ok so i got to thinking today (uh oh) and came up with the idea of putting small fogs in my TJM inside 2 of the holes at the bottom of the bumper itself.
has anyone ever done this? im just wondering if i ever need to keep that aread clear for when i get a winch someday.
i would like to add some lights, but i dont want them on top of the bumper.
here is a pic of the bumper so you can see what holes im talking about
(the 4 holes on the bottom of the bumper where you can see the radiator)

Casey,

With the right tools and imagination, anything is possible

The only concern I would have is protecting the backside connection against corrosion, water damage, etc. That is to say, those lights and connections better be sealed because they don't look like they'll have the best of protection.

They won't be in the way of a winch except to install it, but you can take them out for that. The only minor concern I would have is reduced air flow to the radiator, but that is probably not a big deal.

yea, im sure i can keep them from corroding or getting all gunked up, So. Ca. weather isnt too bad for the most part. and im also not too worried about the air flow to the radiator, 4 bangers dont over heat too easily, and I'll still have 2 of the holes open.

i have a friend that can weld, so maybe when he gets back from school we can fab up some mounts.

still not sure if i really want to do this, but i am definitely interested in some more lighting.

see those TJM stickers ? Move in towards the ends a little and down and I think that would be a great place for a 2.5 to 3" hole saw to do some work.

Nitro - short thread jack - i saw one of your old posts with pics of the Volant Cold Air Intake. How's that working for you? Specifically:

1 how loud?
2 performance?
3 has it held up?

thanks. btw, i would go with the fabbed holes for your fog lights and leave the vent holes open as designed (you're right about the 2.7 staying cool tho, my electric fan almost never comes on and the temp gauge never moves from the warm position).

You've probably seen this, but Jackson did the conversion of the turn signal holes to fogs Write Up

bktaco,
volant isnt currenly on my truck anymore, it had that box, but still wasnt water tight, and im just not too keen on that idea, i'd much rather have a fully sealed box instead of a minimal amount of power.
the sound was nice, and the power was minimal.
plus i got check engine lights once in a while with it, so i took it out.

Jim,
yes, i have seen Jackson's mod. ive been thinking about that too.
to be honest, i wont be doing any of this since i am now saving for a front ARB locker
