Now that I finally replaced my stock tires I consider my lift officially complete. I went with the Cornfed Suspension 1” lift (part numbers 2S-4RUN-1 and RA-4RUN-1) and LT265 75R 16 Toyo Open Country AT’s. Some of you may wonder "what's the point with a 1" lift"...well I knew I that putting on the bigger tires did not require a lift, but I just thought it would be a more proportional setup with a more aggressive stance, and it really turned out that way. Plus, I didn't want to deal with re-gearing or possible CV joint issues that often accompany larger lifts and 285's.

I also swapped out my stock shocks (which were toast) with Monroe Sensatrac's (front part# 71284 at $70 each, rear part# 37157 at $33 each) and the ride quality has noticably improved. I have taken it off-road, and I’m experiencing better off-road performance than the stock shocks. I realize the off-road performance will not be close to OME's or Bils, but since I am mostly street the ride quality was of utmost importance.

Overall I am very happy with the outcome, and I will offer to do a write-up. I would like to thank Mike (azrain) and others for all the great input to threads I posted about lifts & shocks.

02SE, Granted it's early to comment on long term satisfaction but at this point I really like them. I did the Hawkea/Road Force balancing and they run perfect. I havent taken them off road yet, but I am sure there will be a night & day difference in performance. Thanks for turning me on to these Toyo's! I really liked the 500 mile satisfaction guarantee that allowed me to bring them back for a full refund if I wasnt satisfied.

Uboatcmndr, I had a local shop that was experienced in doing lifts put the Monroes on and the Cornfed spacers. I didnt have a spring compressor, and the cost was very reasonable, so I just let them do it. If I do a write-up it wouldn't be a true nuts & bolts write-up but it would give someone all the information they would need to acquire all the parts and a visual comparison of what they could expect their rig to look like after it's all done.

I am on my second set of Toyo open countrys for my 3rd gen and just but a set on the 4th gen. You will love these tires. They work great on road but really shine in snow, mud, and ice. Just make sure to get an alignment. That mistake cost me 2 new tires after only 10k miles!

Nice! Yeah, I understand re 1" lift b/c I wanted to keep my 4runner as stock looking as possible. 2" lifts or greater wasn't going to work for me

Looks very clean and w/ your new tires and 1" lift, you'll have that added "security" on the trails.

I knew I was going to take a little ribbing on that comment. Let me put it this way...I am going to fight the temptation to mod further. I dont need a locker, a new bumper with a winch, a hood scoop, etc, etc for what I do. I will do minor mods, but with regards to items that pertain to suspension & off-road mods I dont need anything more than what I have, that's why I built it this way.

BTW, to answer your question...I am in the Iowa/Illinois area.
