One more vote for Denso Iridiums. They're expensive, but very much worth it! I run mine with S/C and 7th injector kit and couldn't be happier.

sitting here with my NKG iridiums, i just gapped them and im gonna install when the truck cools off, i have just plain bosch platinums in there now, im hoping to see a big difference. i have bosch wires too any suggestions on other brands? Accel? MSD? anything else i should consider. its not quite time, but i might go up to 8mm if i feel like it.

Stay away from Bosch. I've had 2 Honda's that came to me with a misfire, and I pulled out Bosch plugs out of both and put in NGK's. One Bosch actually had a broken electrode.

Denso for Toyotas, NGK for Hondas.

Yamaha+Toyota=Fun

I run normal old NGK V-powers. Cheap and they work.

I have always been a factory spec kinda person , BUT , I put DENSO IRIDIUMS in my Runner and have never been happier ! They now have been in there untouched for over 45,000 miles and perform flawlessly. At 181,000 plus miles I still very loaded get betwwen 20-21 miles to the gallon on the highway and 17-18 mile to the gallon in town . I have a 5-speed with 32-11.50/15 Bfg AT-KO and have a very heavy foot. Granted I give my RUNNER ever service that it is due and probably more than it needs but I am a firm believer that there is no way that you will ever over service your vehicle. You take care of your truck and it will take care of you . Give it nothing but the best money can buy and it will return the same: PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY ! ! ! ! I do run a K&N filter, synthetic oils in everything, new fuel filter every 10,000 miles and a can of SEAFOAM in every third tank of fuel. When I bought this Runner of of E-BAy 2 years ago I was getting at the best unloaded 13-15 on the highway. Now with a few minor changes look what I have achieved ! The other big thing that I did was to get those terrible automatic hubs off there and put a set of factory AISIN hubs of a 1986 4-Runner on and that really help a lot not to mention saveing my drivline a lot of wear & tear !

Denso Iridiums all the way! They will outlast any other spark plug on the market. A lot of the new Toyotas come with them right from the factory and Toyota has now extende the spark plug change interval to 120,000 miles (up from 100,000). That should tell you something about the durability these plugs have.
I ran them in my snowmobile the past 2 winters and had absolutely no problems with them. I usually replace the plugs after 1000 miles but when I took them out they looked like brand new so I ran them another 1500 miles untill I sold that sled.

i'm now running a hot ignition(.050 plug gap anyone?) and i've found that it beats the crap out of the NGK plugs. i'm now running autolites and it seems to be playing nicer. no difference from NGK in driveability or performance, but they just seem to hold up better.

remember, my ignition isn't stock though...

sorry to hijack.... but the 4runner im getting has a factory turbo.... so does that change what plugs i should put in it?... the guy im buying it from says he loves the bosch p +4s he has in his taco.... now im all confused

with a turbo, you may want to use a colder plug. stick with NGK or denso, just ask for a plug with a cooler heat range.

How about I ordered 6 new NGK platinums from URD and they called me the other day and said they shipped me Iridiums instead by accident and hope that I enjoy them.

I love URD for being so gracious...can't wait to try them out. Thanks URD...you are an upstanding company. You have a steady customer now from me.

i've been running bosch Pt+2 in my 22re for over 120k (2nd set) and have not had a single issue with misssing or anything else. i put them in my 02 runr and have not exp'd any issues either(~10k). they definely work better w/ FI as they didn't seem to perform as well in my NA 510, it likes NGK. my 0.02 fwiw

i have the same rig, junbug. and i use NGK or denso regular OEM plugs with NGK (blue) wires.

they're like $1.70/plug and the rig runs great.
