Intermittant engine stopping - 96 Tac. 4X4/2.7

I have owned this 5 spd truck since '96 which now has 95,000 mi. My problem is that the stock 2.7L EFI engine is starting to have an intermittant engine stop problem. It will just quit while driving at 70 mph (no engine light), then while coasting down to say 40-50 mph I am able to restart it in the usual procedure and continue on without problem. At other times it will not start (it has normal cranking power) while cold and in my driveway, first thing in the morning (but eventually starts after 10-20 seconds worth of grinding on the starter). It has refused to start in the parking lot after a quick trip to the store about 3 miles away (but eventually starts after 10-20 seconds worth of grinding on the starter). This has been going on for about a year, sometimes ok for a few months or so and other times will do it twice in a day, but seems to be getting more frequent. It doesn't seem to be more frequent in the winter or summer...or when dry or damp.

I've had a Toyota dealer try to duplicate the problem without success. So I suppose at some point it's going to refuse to start for good and I'll be left with a long walk...but have the problem reveal itself :0).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tom,
Georgia
