I need help!

I recently installed some fender flares on my truck, and I'm starting to realize how much better black looks than chrome. I'm really starting to hate chrome, especially my push bar because I hate the way the KC's stick out (I can't fit them inside). So I've come up with 3 options and I'd appreciate it if you guys help me pick. Keep in mind I'm a college student and I want to keep this cheap as possible.

1. Sell the push bar and put some Hellas on it where the holes are drilled in the bumper (hoping they'll fit)

(This pic doesn't show the fender flares, but you can imagine what they'd look like on it.)

2. This option might not be so popular but I'm seriously considering it mainly because of cost and I like the way it looks. It would give it a Baja sort of look which would be fine with me. I would sell the push bar, which would probably let me break even.

3. The most expensive option... the ARB bull bar. I didn't post a pic because I think you all know what it looks like. This is the one I really want, but I'd be broke for a while if I get it. What would you guys do?

I have the Hella's drilled directly into my front bumper, but unfortunately don't have any pics of it. It looks great, in my opinion, and I haven't had a single problem with it. My vote would either be that, or the ARB.

Perrsonally I think that the 2nd option is too Baja wanna-be! But thats just me. Ive seen it done w/o the bumper and think that looks good...

Iguess though that these are more function than form?!?

Think

Black

Here are my Hella's mounted directly to the stock bumper before I got the ARB.

I vote for save a little more, then get the ARB.
I am glad I did, it's the beef

A push bar is one that bolts onto the front bumper, mainly for looks and to have something to mount lights on. See in my first post the first picture... that's a push bar.

Click on the links in Corey's post right above yours to see what the ARB bull bar looks like. It replaces the whole front bumper.

Another factor weighing into my decision is the fact that I have a 2" body lift waiting to go on. I've seen a pic of a 3rd gen 4Runner with a 2" body lift and an ARB, but not a 2nd gen. I know there's probably no way to make the ARB work with the body lift, is it?

Ok another option has appealed to me. I could paint my existing push bar black. Is that possible on a chrome surface?

There is definitely a way to make an ARB bar work with a body lift, but it will require custom fabrication.

The fact that you mention the ARB, and it being expensive, tells me that you won't really be happy until you have it. You are just trying to justify to yourself that it is ok to spend $700 ona bumper.

Am I right?

Chris, as Channer said, a shop could make it work.
They might just have to drill new holes in it to make it bolt to the frame.

I know it will work with a 1" body lift, but 2" leaves more of a gap unless you customize it.

You can't take it with you, so spend the money on the ARB.

You know how bad-ass it looks

You know you want it.
