how to get my Black SR5 flares Black again

What are you guys using to keep these SR5 flares Black? I'd really rather not paint them, and i'd like some options to keep these black.

I'm about to buff and polish the whole truck and will probably remove them from the truck while it's in the process of being restored to it's former beauty.

I use Mothers back to black. Looks good for a few weeks.

Some have used the Griots, (I think) black dye, but Brian (waskillywabbit) had a bad experience with that.

Forever black is what sucked, cause it is anything but Forever. I just use the Mothers now.

Oh ya the peanut butter does a great job taking the wax and other crud off of the flares!

Price would be my only concern Neil. Griots is good stuff, but man do they nail you on price!

I know Brian said he's had bad experiences with Forever Black, but mine have been nothing but good. I used it on my tires and the rear bumper trim and they have been black for the last couple of months. I also used in on my GF's 97 Wrangler flares (which were a nasty grey after 7 years) and they still look awesome (two months later). Maybe because in PHX we don't get much rain. Who knows.

Peanutbutter is good for stuff on the flares but when the flare itself is fading from the sun I don't think the PB is going to do anything.
