Help with Speedometer

My speedometer just stopped working on my '97 4Runner. I looked for a mechanical cable like there always was on my pickups but I can't find one. Any help would be appreciated.

Look at it this way, at least you probably won't be racking up any miles on the ODO while it's broken. Right?

the wire

well, the speedometer signal wire is ;green with orange stripe-- it connects to the computer under the glovebox and then goes to the transmission plug where it picks up a magnetic pulse from the output drive-- also, if you have a scope, you can detect the pulse coming from the wire-- no pulse, check another plug

hope this helps
