Help!!! 275/55-20 tires are rubbing

Just put on my 20 inch rims today. I like the look of the bigger tires as opposed to the 275/45-20 that most of you use. I really don't want to go down two inches from the tire size and I don't want to lift my truck any, so I was wondering if there is any way I could use the same tires and still go over medians and curbs without any problems. The tires only rub a little when I turn and of course when going over curbs. Has anyone ever tried to clear some of the fender out of the way to fit a 31.8 inch tire? I was just wondering if it is possible or do I need to just change the tire diameter
thanks

I think they're rubbing because they're 275mm wide, not because they are 31.8" high. My 265/75R16s are approximately the same height, but no rubbing here.

i would bet its not cause of his width but its a combination or the width and his ratio. You should have gotten a smaller ratio like a 45/50 those i believe would both fit.

Do you have any pictures of the wheels and rims i would like to see?

Also when you bought them at the store they didnt say anything to you that they would be to big.

I was told by pirelli when i called that as long as i dont get a larger diameter wheel it really wont matter how wide the wheel is. I was told a 295/45/20 should fit my 03 4runner. CHris
