Done it a few times myself. I use the light pattern on my garage door to make the adjustment. I set my lights below what is recommended both to help cut down on blinding others and to make the lights work better in fog and bad weather.

I put the late model projector glass on my 97 then drove across the mtns to Fruita. Came in late and night and got a few people a bit ticked. My drivers side is amenable, but my passenger side is still a bit wide right (but the glass is starting not to line up with the corners).
neat adjusting screws on the third gens.
