Has anyone done the Spring over axle on tacoma
Has anyone out there done a spring over axle conversion with the weld on spring perches on a late model Tacoma ? If so can I get any pointers on tips on how to make the installation/conversion go smooth?I am trying to level out the rear of my tacoma to get away from that prerunner look.

4x4 tacoma's and Pre-Runners are already spring over. Maybe you could get an axle housing and swap your third member, etc over...
Otherwise, leave it under and get some Deaver springs to give the rear a lift. We actually went spring under on our 4x4 Taco to fit long-travel leafs w/o tons of lift.

I don't have a prerunner .I have a 97 Tacoma v6 5l lug that I put a 6" suspension lift on and the back sags about 3" which looks really bad.The springs are under my axle so to level it out I would like to do the spring over axle with the weld on spring perches.

I am well aware of the fact that you don't have a pre-runner. I was the one helping you figure out what rear axle you had, remember? I know you have a 2wd, 5-lug, V6. Hence the part in my 1st post where I said, you could leave it spring under and get taller springs...
You missed my point. My point was that if you were to get an axle housing from a pre-runner or a 4x4 truck and swap it on to your truck, it would already be sprung over and fairly simple, especially if you don't weld...
Do you get it now?

Yes, he could reuse his axles and complete third member. It all will bolt right into the pre-runner/4x4 axle. At least I am pretty sure of that, it's true as long as the housing width is the same.

It turns out I just bought the TRD linited slip by Eaton and a slightly used 3rd member out of a 1999 non TRD Tacoma to get my gears right.I actually have the Tacoma 8.25 rear .Now the reason I wanted not to do the rear spring change out is because they are costly .The spring perches are $8 for the pair and I have a master welder for a friend.I just wanted to make sure it can be done before we try to tackle it on my Daily driver work truck.I don't want to run into any problems in the middle of the install.
