For those with the SAWs - you didn't notice a serious difference when adding an ARB/TJM and winch? Are the 4runner stock bumpers that heavy?

3) SAW 650lb springs - 1" lift right now - it's sagged over the past year and the adjustment collar is siezed - I'm still working on solving that problem.

Baja, my SAW did sag almost an inch over the past year under the wt of the winch/bumper. I did clean out about 30 pounds of mud from my skid plate, so maybe that is part of the problem. If I could adjust the darn things it would be fine. I've busted two spanners in the last couple weeks trying to adjust them. I've been griping to SAW and hope they will address this issue since I've only had my SAW for a year. Also note that I have the 650 lb springs and have heard that the new SAW come with 675 lb springs.

um... I lost almost an inch in the front with HD OMEs and HD bilsteins. Now I have the Downey adjustables cranked all the way and its better, but still not where I want it. I don't even have a winch, just the:

T15
No winch
Downey Adjustable Coilovers
On road is ok, little bouncy but still corners descent with the sways in.
Off road is great. I get comments on how good it feels from 1st Geners all the time. I could use a little more flex, but once I get the discos, that will solve that.

the TJM t-15 is only about 50 lbs more than the stock bumper, it shouldnt make SAWs or OMEs sag at all.

now adding a winch is another story...

I am asking because of the difference that I noticed when I mounted an ARB on my SAW equipped Tacoma. (sorry Ryan, it's not a 3rd gen 4runner which you specify for this thread, but I was really curious if other people noticed as big of a difference as I did). I will keep my eye on this thread. Maybe a person's perception of the suspension performance would be influenced by how long they ran the suspension setup prior to adding the mods. In other words, a guy who has run adjustable coilovers for a year, and then adds a bullbar and winch might have a different opinion than a guy who installs his new coilver lift and bullbar/winch at the same time. Thoughts?

Yes. The 99+ 4Runner has a sizeable subframe crush pillar in the larger front bumper. So with the combined frame/bumper combo. It weighs at least if not more than the single blade/plastic tacoma bumper.

There were lots of SUV safety tests but no Pickup tests or hupla that I recall. Now the 96-98 would be alot closer to the Tacoma.

I experienced zero loss when switching from the stock front bumper/frame extension/fog lights to the TJM T-17 with Warn M8000.

Call it crazy but it's true. That's why you can put 99 4Runner coils on a Tacoma and get lift.

Well after a month w/ the Tjm t-15 warn m8000 combo installed I didnt see enough drop to help my cv's so I dropped my SAW's 3/8" and improved my cv's. Now I have rubbing on the frame and fender instead of the upper a arms. Still considering the bl.

- OME 881 coils with N91S struts and Revtek top spacer = 1.5" lift
- on-road is stiffer than stock, but in a better way. more responsive and better feeling. super smooth on highway.
- off road results pending...

Toyota Tundra Coils, Bilstein HD Struts, Cornfed 2.5" spacer
On Road, it's much better than the original 4runner coil/strut, but I think it's mostly due to the bilsteins and not the coils.
Off-road, it's nice to have plenty of soft flex for articulation.
