I was reading about that swap a while back. I remember reading that some of the electrics on the Lex V8 are in a location suseptible to water. I'll try to dig up a link to the thread. It was over at www.lextreme.com

no use posting geocity links on big websites, his allotment of hits will get exceeded immediatly. anything can be done with the appropriate ammount of effort. I've seen links on people swapping in huge cummins turbo diesels from like F350s etc. talk about torque. . .

the thing about swaping the 3.4 is that you get to keep the rest of the drive train without braking anything more than normal on the trail. I guess it's fine for DD.

Yeah, I have friends trying to get the V10 Twinturbo Toureg down from canada but they finally gave up. Plus, there wouldn't be anyone able to work on it. Oh well... I mean, couldn't you put a few extra cats on it to get it into the states then take them off when it got here?
