They sure do make one for your rig.
To hear one, visit my exhaust page.

Also listen to the Magnaflow and the Dynomax.
I don't have any sound clips of the Magnaflow though for the 3rd gens yet.

hey man

i, like many other people, have gotten the dynomax super turbo muffler. it gives it a nice deep tone, which, i am a fan of. not that loud though. im sure more people will ring in that know more about this subject than i do. its cheap too. 47.50 i think shipped from summit.

I should point out the sound clip you first hear when entering my exhaust page is not a Toy motor.

That is a Ford 302 small block in a Toyota 4x4.
Not sure what muffler he was using either.

Hey slim. I have the Flowmaster in mine. Sounds great. They have diferent models, I got the 'softer' one. You could get one with a loud tone, but some have said it's too loud and removed it...don't expect to see any mileage gains. when you first install it, you'll lose some from all that extra revving you'll do to hear the new tones.

MAN i want an exhaust!!!
What are your thougths on going either the new tubing way, or just replace the muffler way? Butnut, which way did you go? If you just replaced the muff, you definately won't get any gains, but if you replaced all the tubing (to be bigger ofcourse) and still didn't see any gains in oomph or MPG, i don't really see the point. Thanks guys,

Older Toy's like mine replace the tubes to bring it up to 2.25".
3rd gens already have 2.25" tubes, so only a muffler is really needed.

Not sure if all 3rd gens have 2.25" from the factory. You will have to measure it.

I guess i will chime in first for the Vortex crowd. I have a Vortex Cherry Bomb muffler, and i love it, it is great at idle. And it sounds great at all RPMs. I would suggest it, i got mine installed and purchesed from my local meineke. It is pretty load too.

When you say loud, what type of sound are you hearing at highway speeds?

Thanks

I also have the super turbo muffler. I love it. It sounds great and gives it some more pep. I am so glad that I got it. I also upgraded to 2-1/4" tubing. :fireman:

I still wanna hear the TRD muffler!

I've got 150,000k miles on my exhaust system and its the only part of the car that actually looks worn so i may just buy the whole new system I definitely dont want my 4runner to sound like either civic or a harley i just want it to sound powerful

You will get oomph and a performance sound. I believe as Corey sez the stock pipe is 2-1/4"...not the pea shooter so I ran it straight back (ala Japan style) and with the stainless tip, gave a deeper tone that just sings at 2000 rpm (freeway jam). This is one mod that pleases the eyes, ears, and seat of yer pants...well worth it.

With the Vortex, at highway speeds with all the windows up and the radio off, you can hear a moan from the muffler, but if you turn the radio to normal levels, you can barely hear it if all. When i turn my radio up, i forget all about it.

Jason sent me a vid of a guy who sold his 4Runner, but it had the TRD/Borla exhaust on it.
I have not added it yet to my exhaust page, but I did upload it.

Here is is. It's best to right click and save it, or it could play choppy for ya
