Fender Flares w/o Running Boards

Fender Flares w/o Running Boards
I just bought a 1999 4Runner and am wanting to get some fender flares for it (along with a list of other things). I have already taken off the running boards and don't plan to put them back on. Does the Bushwacker fender flares have the extensions so they will look decent without being attached to the running boards?
I almost bought some online and then saw that it said the fit was for 4Runners w/ running boards. I see a lot of you have bought bushwacker fender flares and don't have your running boards so I thought this might be the best place to start!
Thanks!!

Welcome to YT! I personally have no experience with after market fender flares. I'm assuming you're looking at something similar to the ones in this link.

I'm sure others who have bought these will chime in on this. You might also want to use the search function to check for the other threads with this topic.
good luck!

I have a 99 SR5 and when I took off my running boards all I had to do was buy the front mud flaps for it. Contacted a guy at a Toyota dealership and I have no problems with it. I didn't really notice a huge difference between the bushwacker flares and the OEM ones. You might be able to pick some up on e-bay.
This is what it looked like after I removed my running boards.
This is what it looks like now with the OEM fenders.

Thank you both!!! I have an SR5 and it only has the small chrome strips so I really want to upgrade.
If anyone has bought the bushwacker fender flares, do the dealership mud flaps work with those too?

Here is what the bushwackers look like. The only advantage with the bushwackers I would say over the sr5 oem flares is they are a little easier to install and of course they are wider like the limited flares.
Here is a pic from awhile back before I had aftermarket bumpers. Bushwacker also gives you extensions that mount to the bumpers they give it a more complete look.

Those are exactly what I was looking for, do you have a part # by chance? Did you buy online?
Thanks again.
