I have a Uniden one that I got that the truck stop. I am actually using it for my scanner only at this time, but is is loud. I have a CB that is equipped a digital compass and with the jacks for a communications headset with VOX/PTT capability. It was a Radio Shack CB. I might get a splitter so that I can run either or both on the single external speaker.

Steve, I'm sure you have seen pics of my Rad Shack one.
Jim on the forum here (mytruck) has a Bigmouth unit that is smaller and sounds very nice.
I am thinking about getting it since it's a smaller footprint.

They are way better than the ones built into the CB, as they have better bass response, and the person talking to you doens't sound as "small" with a stock cb radios speaker.

Texas Ranger External Speaker

Here is a link to the speaker I'm using.

Pricey but awesome.

I have it mounted under my drivers seat, and you'd think it was in my headrest.

Well......................

If it's good enough for the Legendary Sparman, I think Erika will find it suitable.

Can you measure that thing or guess about how big it is?

Thanks

Legendary hardly.

Sir, I am humbled in your presence.

5" square face, 3" high.

3.5" high when sitting in the mounting bracket.

Erika's a wise woman..........

Jet City CB

Hey, sschaefer3...
Got my external CB speaker at a small CB shop in Renton, WA called 'Jet City CB'. Their phone number is: 425-793-0012. I don't think they have a web site.
The speaker is a VANCO Big Mouth CB Extension Speaker, Model # SPB-2. Nice and compact, and makes it easy to hear your CB. Not sure of the exact size of the speaker, but the box it came in measures:
3.0" high by 3.25" X 3.25".

That's the Vanco Big Mouth, they're available from a number of folks. Hit up Google with "Vanco big mouth" or the offical model number is "SPB2".

For example, ALF Enterprises carries them:
