What Kyle said...
go with engnbldr's stuff, price is right and it's good quality

I wont put anything that says DOA on my engine ever again.
Heck you wont even get a reciept from that guy.

I met engnbldr in person when I picked up my new valves and 3.0 gasket set....he is good people. If you have any question about his products or his customer service just look at his ebay feedback
Engnbldr kit
Almost 6k and 100% is pretty exceptional.. that may even be the kit you need?

The metal guide is only needed on the one side (tensioner side I think). Heck the plastic ones are fine as far as wear. The problem is on startup when the oil pressure isnt up to snuff and your timing chain is having its way with the tensioner on the one side because it has weak tension till it has oil pressure. That is the reason for the metal backed guide it has nothing to due with wear. The tensioner side will slap the guide and if its plastic with no backing then it will eventually break it or some portion of it. Like I said look at his feedback, ask people about him, do what ever you think is necessary to validate his parts and service you will hear nothing but good. You dont get a good name by selling a half assed part.

have a look around the web site. Maybe send some Emails

You probably won't do much better than engnbldr's stuff as far as price/quality goes. DOA Racing has metal guides; I got their kit several years ago and it is very good quality. Definitely do not replace the guides with factory plastic ones. That will be no improvement.

Yeah, they are rubber covered metal, both the driver side guide and the passenger side guide. I have no idea if they are the same as LCE's set.
