Downeys on a 3rd Gen.

I'm wanting to go the route of Downeys and Bilsteins on my 3rd Gen. truck and I just wanted to get some feedback from the forum as far as the coils were concerned. I'll probably go with shox.com for the Bils, but I'm having a hard time locating a vender for the Downeys. Do most people buy direct? How do the OME coils compare (price and performance)? I'm assuming the Downeys would be the cheaper alternative. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I think Mike on the forum here carries the Downeys, and will get you a good deal.

The Downey rear springs are actually more expensive but you get more parts in the kit. If you buy OME you will have to "make" the missing parts yourself.

You do have good metal working skills, right?

Steve, actually Rancho has stopped making the limiting straps, therefore, I wonder if Downey is going to supply the metal hangars for the limiting straps as they are using a different supplier now...hhhmmm

MIKE... When is your online catalog gonna be up and running. I'm looking at buying SAWs, Downey 3"s, and rear Bilsteins. Do you have prices for those? I run a 2000 4Runner 2wd :-(. Please email me too and maybe we can talk some time.

Thanks to all for your input... Corey, Mike & Steve. As far as the metal working skills... Hmmm.... I work in a sign shop, so maybe I can talk one of my buddies into doing some welding/cutting for me. I guess you are refering to the limiting strap brackets? Mike, I will be intouch soon (I hope).
