Downey-offroad CV boots for 3rd gen 4Runner

Hi,

Has anyone used the CV boots from downey-offroad? I'd like to hear some feedback on this before I make an order. P/N are 42318 (inner) and 42320 (outer).
According to Downey, these boots are using better (more flexible) materials than those being used for the OEM cv boots.

Thanks.

Lifetime guarantee halfshaft from Autozone - $79 ... or was it $69... anyways don't screw around with boots. You gotta take the halfshaft out anyway to do the boots, just put a new one back in! Then you know the band is tensioned right, and all those complicated parts are lubed right.

I disagree, if the stock halfshafts and boots were made for stock ride hights, upgrading one part of your car calls for upgrading others. I personally am going to buy a pair and install them in the future. $30 for a set is cheap BTW I called downey and they seem very confident in this product and he says it has been proven to work on many 3rd gen 4runner. just my .02

indeed 964runner. i don't want to keep pulling my axles every two months and replace them, even its free. i want to fix it so i don't have to keep doing this over and over again.

And for those of us who don't live in the US the lifetime guarantee from Autozone doesn't help much. Especially for Roy, shipping from the Philippines each time they needed replaced would make those $79 axles very expensive.

Roy looks like you're going to have to get some and let us know how they do.

Good point there Eric. I guess I'll have to play the guinea pig....

Oops - guess I have to remember it's the WORLD wide web - not the US wide web!

Hi,

I haven't bought them as I'm postponing my mods hopefully until 3 months as I'm a bit broke.

Thanks.
