D-ring shackle tow hitch question
Ok... so I have the common 3/4" hole in my bumper for a ball hitch. I have no need for a ball hitch as I don't tow. I want to install a d-ring shackle like the one in this picture...
My dilemma is this... all the d-ring shackles I have found have a 5/8" pin which is too big. It also seems that the width between the two eye holes is not large enough to fit around bumper (about 1.6 inches). Anyways, wanted to know if anyone else out there has run into this issues. I don't want to replace my bumper but I may be willing to drill the hole a LITTLE bigger. Any ideas? Thanks!

dilan,
buy a hitch receiver and use those common shackles. look at the end of my writeup here: http://www.4runners.org/articles/shackle, esp under "A Note about Shackles"
