did replacing the MC (and SC?) solve you're 'groan' problems? i am absolutely sick of my noisy clutch pedal, i've tried greasing parts, putting that spring on there, replaced some cotter pin bushing, and adding 'shims' that <96 Runner> recommended in some other thread, and none of them have done anything. when you replaced the MC, what mileage did your truck have? did you do this yourself, and was it hard?

yes it did. mileage was around 100k. i did it the first time but not very well. i had my mechanic do it the 2nd time.

Did any of you try changing your clutch fluid? It's worked for my 1999 so far.
My experience with the clutch master on a nissan 300Z is that it's still going strong and quiet and all I've done is change the fluid when it began groaning. It's a 1986 model. The clutch pedal feel will get a little notchy and it can start making noise when it's time to change it. All you do is loosen the drain plug on the slave cylinder and let it drain. Give it a fill, actuate the cylinders and let is drain again. Then refill.
