Clocked my 0-60...

10.0. I spun a little at the start but still, edmunds says like its 9.1? Spark plugs are super old, but I dont know if that would deal with it. Just doing to the deckplate mod, i should think, would cut the time some. IDK, what couls be the problem...It was a stright road, no head wind, no incline that i could tell. I have a dirty airfilter that is stock....??? Any ideas?

Anybody ever raced a 5-Speed against an automatic. You would think the 5-Speed would win, but I don't think they can shift as fast?

I'm pretty sure with a short throw shifter (there's a kit at summitracing), theres no competition.

Not to mention that a direct link (clutch) probably transfers more power than the stock TC can on takeoff

The times you are comparing your 4runner to were more than likely from a 5 speed (NEW). Your truck is 9 years old.... little older and a little slower. If edmunds said 9.1 then 10 isnt bad.

I know for sure that my truck will smash on any automatic through first until you have to shift, but then I would think that it is fair game.

No contest between a 5-speed and auto; even with a conservative launch the 5-speed will take the auto, especially on the top end.

That's good an all.. but if my losing to a 5-speed was that big of an issue..

I'd be buying a blower.

But if it really was an issue.. I probably would have bought a sports car. Maybe when Toyota brings back the Supra I will have hit the lottery so I can afford it.

Another thing:truck, its made for 4x4 not the road..I dont care if its slow, I want to be able to get by that little fast hatchback when it counts.

Ex: While going to work I need to stop at this one light that has 4 lanes, 2 turn tot he left, a center and a righthand lane. I need to go into the lefthand lanes to turn but the 1st one usually backs up cause people dont want to seem to go into the other one. There is a curb/median thing there, I just hop right up and go along..
