What year of rig?
You could always put an under hood fusebox like I have for mine that is in the Tech section here and wire it right to it, or you could wire it right to the battery with an inline fuse.
Or even leave it alone and add extra 12v outlets.
Again, I have a write-up in the tech section on that for older rigs, and there is a trick to do for the newer rigs in there that involves a little under the hood wiring.

guys , i tried just jumping the fuse to another fuse that is on constinetly and it also made my clock on al lthe time too .
so i jsut ran a new hot wire from the battery with a fuse to the back of the cig lighter , took about 15 minutes or so .
oh by the way this was on my 96 toy t-100 4x4
