Hi I am interested in buying a body lift for my truck. What company(s) make good body lifts. Are they hard to install? And are the gaps easy to cover up? Any other information is appreciated!! Thanks

i think so, yes. unfortunately, i don't know too much about them, but i know a ton of people are running them ... if you do a search for "roger brown" here you'll find tons of threads about the lifts. they're supposedly very easy to install - much more so than a suspension lift. sooo ... but they're the most popular body lift you'll see around here. (if not the only) sorry that i can't help much more than that ... ! hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will chime in.

Yeah I emailed him last night and 10 minutes later he responed to my question. So do I just need the blocks? What else will I need!! He said a 1" bl will be able to clear 33x12.50 is that true for mud terrains too?? Thanks

Read the main page, to help you understand all the components of a lift kit. I sent you a table of parts/prices with the "Typical Kit" contents listed for each height, that is what most people "typicallly" get, thus the name "typical kit".

As I describe on the page, you need the blocks to get the lift (that's what holds the body off the frame), then you need some longer bolts to keep the body in place, supply your own or I can supply them. Then, you may need various brackets, etc. to raise/lower other parts if desired (bumper, radiator, etc.). I describe the issues in clearing 33s, lots of variables, wheel width and offset/backspacing, width and actual height of the tires (both can vary by mfg. and even tread style). I list a "recipe" for fitting 33x12.50 BFG Mud Terrain tires on an IFS pickup including specific wheel specs., etc. Read that section and the links to further information I provide there. A 2" lift would make the tire fitting easier, esspecially if you want a wider wheel or more offset or are averse to doing any trimming, etc.

For instance, I see you list 15x8 Black Rockcrawler wheels. If those are the common 3.5" backspacing, they will be sticking out 1.25" wider (per side) than the 4.75" backsapced wheels I list on my page, so a 33x12.50 probably will require a 2" lift to clear or extensive fender trimming/seam hammering. Why? Look at the way the front wheels move when they steer. The steering pivot point is fixed. The arc swept by the tire is determined by how far away the outer edge of the tire is from the steering pivot point. Wider wheel, wider tire or more offset wheel will swing a wider arc. The fender is fixed in space, if the arc of the tire meets the fender, you have problems. The body lift raises the fender, to try and mitigate the interference, usually by raising the bottom of the fender up above the centerline of the tire, As you can see below, if the body were raised an inch or two, the center line of the tire (where it is the largest) would fall below the lower lip of the wheel well and rubbing would be lessened:

In case 4th gen owners didn't see, there is a RB body lift for us. Does any 4th gen owner think that may help with some of the rubbing issues some (those with spacer lifts) were having with the larger tires?

As noted in the installation instructions, no it is not required.

And this is precisely why I don't have a "pre-packaged" all in one kit, since almost eveyone needs something different. You order what you need.
