Best way to fix rubbing?
Ok, i just installed some spacers (yes i know they suck, you don't have to tell me!) and now i get a slight bit of rubbing right at the rear corner of the fender well (not the firewall side but the plastic that is inside the fender).
It is just a little bit of rubbing but in reverse it just might catch and rip something off. What is the best way to fix that? cut it out?
2000 4runner stock hight and 265's only about a half inch of rubbing.

trimming would be the way to go....but i don't understand....265s clear stock suspension without issue. i don't know why a spacer lift would compromise that....are we talking wheel spacers or coil spacers?

Whell spacers. And i thought it would still clear fine too but it just rubbs a little on this one spot. At full lock it gets past it and doesn't rub but at just a little from full lock it rubbs.

Might be a silly question, but, why'd you put the spacers on to begin with? Just for looks? As for the rubbing, grab a utility knife and a hammer and go to town on it. Cut away the plastic piece, under that will be a piece of steel. Pound that flat and no more rubbing. Or take off the spacers.

Yeah, they are just for looks. And i am VERY happy with the new look. It looks much more aggressive now. I wanted to get some new rims but could not get the $$ so i had to settle with the spacers.
I will cut it up tonight, i didn't know if there was a magic way to do it without cutting but i will get that done either way!

Well, the other way would be a body lift. Avoids cutting all together. Relatively cheap, and will make your truck look taller, as well as clear the tires.

husky knows all about that body lift haha, his is damn sexy
1" would completely rid you of your trouble, but if you're taking the trimming route a grinder works well, get a finer, smaller head to consolidate the trimming areas, meaning you don't accidentally trim more than you want. then brush up with a sander and it should be good to go
