Best Price & Brand of Motor Oil?
Okay, after searching I came up with everything from off-topic discussion of Iraqi Oil Contracts to Super Charger Installation...
All I want to know is this,
1. What brand of motor oil do you think is best?
2. Who has it for the best price?
Thanks!

You are gonna get a lot of opinions here...
Economically, the best move is probably to run amsoil and have it tested. Some guys are running over 10K miles on the same oil!
Personally, I run Mobil 1 synthetic 5-30WT. Costco and Walmart seem to have the best price. I change ever 5K miles, which offsets the cost over conventional oil.

I run tried-and-true Valvoline dino oil, 10w40 in the 4Runner, 20w50 in the truck. Never could justify the cost of synthetics for so old a vehicle. Besides, they would probably start leaking for real if I did.

Actually toy, you reminded me of a question I had...man, I'm just bein' an all out hijacker today!
When would you think switching to dino on my rig would be good? I'm at almost 130k miles on my '95...
Also, I'm using 10W-30 now and was wondering if switching to 5W-30 would be better...even though its not gonna get much colder than it already is now. While running 10W-30 I have only left the rig outside twice and both of those nights it got to about 16* or lower...could that have hurt anything?
Sorry again for the hijack, I figured I've already contributed to the threads initial question, might as well post one of my own questions

Another man that swears by VALVOLINE.
I use dino 10W-30.
I think, if my memory serves me correct, it runs about $1.29 a qt.
I change my own every 5K.

AMSOIL is the best. Every industry standardized test proves it time and time again.

I use Royal Purple, but after this next change I'm going to start using Mobil-1.
I ran Mobil-1 in my 300ZX for 149k miles and it was fine. The RP is getting a bit expensive, plus I change it every 5k.

RP does not stack up to AMSOIL at all in standardized tests and you are paying way more for it then it is worth. Once you see the direct comparison tests you will spend your money on something else.
