battery question..

my 1997 4runner sr5 with stock security is just sitting out side of my house and my question was if the battery dies is my alarm going to go off? I know when I hook up the terminals to the new battery the alarm is going to go off, but if I just let my battery die and not replace it for a while is my car alarm going to go off on its own?...im thinking it wont considering it needs power in order to sound the alarm but is there an internal or back up battery that powers it. thanks.

Some alarm systems have a back up battery, in case someone cuts the cables on the main battery. I don't know if stock Toyota ones have, I don't think so. You may find when the voltage gets too low the alarm system goes haywire though.

When the battery gets to low the alarm usually goes nuts.

Just pull the negative cable and be done with it.
