i followed the wire up to inside the cab to the harness under the drivers seat. to be sure i used a voltage meter to check since the wire changed colors at the harness. it made much more sense to tap into it there than back at the light. i would have had to run back to the lights to where i spliced in, then run back to the cab for the switch and relay, then BACK to the rear to finish the circuit. lots of wasted wire if you go that route.

the lights only dont come on when in the off position (as i said above), but the switch is NEVER in the off position. in the up position, where it is 99% of the time, all 4 lights come on when I am in reverse, just as you want it. In the down position, just the aux lights come on (useful for camping or lighting up path for rigs behind you at night). I wanted the option to be able to turn off my aux. lights so im not blinding someone if i am in a situation to reverse right in front of someone. it just so happens that when i turn those off, the way i have it wired, my stock ones dont come on either. a perfectly acceptable situation since if i am in that situation, the car behind me is going to be able to see me anyway
