Does the mirror attach to the window or to the console on the ceiling like the plain old OEM one does? I don't want anything stuck to the window, so I'd prefer one that goes where my OEM one does?

Part #s would be helpful too!

oh woops, i posted the old version. i have a newer one that i just finished this morning that includes the fact that its mounted on the windshield.

also, part numbers for what? the mirror's model #? thats not a bad idea.. ill throw it in.

Noce writeup. I'm with Brian though - I'm holding out for one that mounts on a stalk exactly like the factory one.

This is the one item in your writeup that I found should be corrected. If the supplied ground wire is not long enough to make it to the nearest ground screw, you should extend the wire and do it properly. Over time, I could see the electrical tape softening up from the heat and your wire losing contact with the drain tube. You can either solder an equal gauge wire to the ground wire or use a crimp fitting. Terminate the ground wire with a loop connector that goes under a proper chassis ground screw.

In my research before I got mine, I found that there were no manufacturer's making anything other than the windshield mounts. I had an issue with warming up to the idea at first, but frankly it doesn't make a bit of difference. No problems with mine 1 1/2 years later - my EZ-Pass box fits nicely right above it on the windshield too.

exactly cebby -- i also have my 'fastlane' (mass version of ez-pass) box right above my mirror and it fits perfectly.

as for the electrical tape softening, i put quite a bit on there personally, and it has yet to be a problem. this is sort of the writeup for people who are as amateur as me when it comes to such things. i'll check it out and update it if i feel its necessary -- thanks for the tip, aow.
