Anyone Know How to Replace Drivers Side Mirror

Hey all, does anyone know how to replace a drivers side mirror on a 2000 4Runner? Do I need to remove the tweeter and can get access from there or do I need to remove the door panel?

Thanks guys.

The plastic covering the tweeter just pops right off. Once that is off you should see three bolts that hold the mirror onto the door. You shouldn't have to remove the tweeter mount. However, I have only every loosened my mirror to install my ventshades.

Now I do know that when I had my driver mirror replaced they had to remove the door panel to replace the electrical connectors for the mirror.

Hope that helps.

Hey Randy,

Good to see you here. If you can wait until I get home tonite, I can send you a diagram via email or post it back here. Check back tomorrow morning.

I had to replace my wife's driver side power mirror on her 95 Camry. It was just a matter of popping off the cover, removing the power connector, removing three bolts, and re-attaching the new mirror.

By the way, the Xterra step tubes are holding up just fine. I get compliments (and sometimes puzzled looks) about twice a month.

Yep, this thread is as old as the hills. But I want to remove the side mirrors on my 92, but I don't see how to disconnection the connections for the power. Bob had a scanned image of the Chilton's manual, but the link is dead.

Removing the 3 screws is easy...do I have to take the door panels off to get to the power connections?

Any help would be appreciated...this is the only mirror removal thread I could find.

Thanks!

Yes, Tou Do Have To Remove The Door Panels To Unplug The Mirror.
The Plug Should Be In About The Middle Of The Door!

OK, that's what I'll do...

Thanks!
