Another 3.4L swap question (dipstick tube)

I am currently in the middle of a 98 3.4L swap into my 94 4Runner. The question I have is in concern with the dipstick tube and being relocated. My search resulted in vague answers to my specific question.

Ok..So last night I removed the plug from the left side of the block and attempted to place the 3.0L tube where the plug was. I have seen no answer whether this hole should be drilled out. Because it appears as though the plugged hole is smaller then the actual dipstick tube. What's the dealio??

Thanks,

Ron
