airbag suspensions
I have posted in earlier threads about the possibility of getting stiffer coils in the rear since I am having some bottoming out issues with my current setup. After doing some research and asking around, it seems that instead of stiffer springs, going with an airbag setup would be a better and more comfortable choice to keep the rear end tight. I currently have a 3" Downey 2wd setup from about 2 years ago. Not sure about what part numbers... but thse are the coils I'm running. I'm looking into a setup where the air is filled once, then will only need to access it a couple of times a year at best to maintain the levels. So, a system with a built in air compressor would not be cost effective so it's not worth the money.
So... I know some of you have air bags setup in their rigs. This is what I'm looking for in your responses:
1. What set up should I get (manufacturer, part numbers, etc)?
2. How much did it cost you?
3. Where did you buy it?
Also, how hard is it to install something like this? Not sure if I could do it myself, but I don't know if a 4Wheel Parts is the best place to go either if it's as simple as just removing the coild, insert airbag and replace.
As always.. thanks for your input!

I really don't know anything about airbag suspensions, but I would assume that you (may) need to adjust it periodically since air compresses? (i.e. more than a couple of times a year).
Not sure. Just throwing that out there. Good luck. Bamachem has had good luck with this. You could PM him.

on my second gen i went with OME coils. (901's i think but dont quote me on that) From a local ARB suppplier/4x4 shop. (support my local guy and not have to fool with ordering them myself)
I bought mystuff as a package with shocks and stuff so i couldnt tell you what just the springs cost.
Airbags are nice if your willing to deal with mounting them and a compressor etc.

I don't know what company is better or if they are generally the same. Anyone have any input on either of these??
