85 4Runner headlights
Anyone have these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...931232381&rd=1
Why does it say they won't fit an 85?

Yep, those should fit. You will probably find the bulbs too dim and too "blue." Those blue colored bulbs that are being sold by the zillions on ebay are useless and their claims of 50% brighter are bullsh**. Half as bright would be more accurate. I have a pile of them.... Get a set of good bulbs (PIAA, Sylvania etc.) and you're all set! The best bulbs I've found so far are PIAA Platinum Superwhites.

Good to know, I was thinking about the Sylvania Silverstars for the housings. I hope the housings are decent though.

I have had a set on my 86 4runner for about a year. They actually work pretty well and are cheap. Even if you don't like the bulbs the housings are ok. They are definitely brighter than the oem headlights.

I'll let everyone know when I get them.
What happened is I won an Ebay auction for some corner marker lights for my 92 Maxima so i could pass inspection but on the way home from work a week ago the tranny lost 3rd and 4th gears completely and the estimate to fix is up to $1800...I am not putting that kind of money in a car with almost 200,000 miles that needs tires and some other stuff. So I am going to donate it to a childrens charity and take the tax writeoff. The company I won the auction from was cool and gave me a credit towards these lights so I figure what the hell I'll try them.
