4th gen e-locker in 2000 4runner??
Ok here is my quandary, I own a 2000 4runner 5speed so it comes with 4.10s now my buddy works at a local junk yard and has found an elocker out of a 4th gen runner and I know gearing is different, 4.30s? I believe. So my question is would I be able to pull out the 3rd member and swap my 4.10 gearing onto the 3rd with elocker and bolt it in to my original rear end? Aren't they both the same size? 8.4"? Or would I have to modify the housing? Some insight on this would be much appreciated!!

Yes I know I have to do the initial modifying to the housing, but I haven't been able to find much about the 3rds being interchange able I assume they are but I don't want to make any assumptions here. I have read countless articles about retrofitting an elocker but not specificly taking one from a 4th gen 4runner?

Theres no such thing as an elocker from a 4th gen 4runner...
I believe they had the center dif lock, possibly, as did the 01-02 4runners, but not full locking rear diff lock. Completely different things
